Bernadine M. Baggenstos

Bernadine was born on Aug. 14, 1922, in Aberdeen, Wash. to Martin and Mary (Mueller) Baggenstos and died at St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia after a brief illness on Dec. 28, 2017.

Bernadine was born on Aug. 14, 1922, in Aberdeen, Wash. to Martin and Mary (Mueller) Baggenstos and died at St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia after a brief illness on Dec. 28, 2017. She lived “up the Wishkah” for most of her life in the same home. Bernadine graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1940 and after graduation attended Triple Cities Business College. In 1942 she went to work at the Grays Harbor Log Scaling & Grading Bureau where she retired in 1984. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church as well as a member of the Legion of Mary and Rosary Group. For many years she helped with Feed the Hungry donating thousands of cookies. She enjoyed going to lunch with the Birthday Girls. She is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Mary Baggenstos, her sister, Gladys, and her brother, Jack. She is survived by her goddaughter, Michel Gellegos.

A recitation of the Rosary will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2017, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 306 East 3rd Street, Aberdeen. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. with a reception to follow at the Parish Hall. Bernadine will be inurned at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pe Ell, Wash. at a later date.
