Beadie Jane Weaver, nee May, was taken home on Monday Sept. 26, 2022, at the age of 95.

She was born Nov. 29, in Pollock, Louisiana, where she lived with her family until the age of 16, when she moved to Washington state. During WWII she lived in San Francisco and Seattle, where she worked as a real-life Rosie the Riveter for the Boeing Company.

She later returned to Washington and married Lowell Heiny, where they raised three children together, later divorcing.

Beadie worked for many years at Grays Harbor Veneer, where she met and married William Weaver. They had one daughter, Rebecca. Bill pre-deceased Beadie in 2013.

Beadie and Bill enjoyed traveling the U.S. in their motorhome, spending months at a time on the road. Beadie’s goal was to get a picture at every state capital and she was proud to have visited every one in the lower 48 states.

She was an avid and accomplished gardener; roses were her specialty. We could always find Mom out among her flowers.

Many people recall her beautiful, rose-filled garden on B Street.

Beadie will be remembered as a loving mother who never failed to put her children first. Her favorite times were spent with family. She was known to collect strays of all kinds, and was a quiet, generous donor to her favorite charities.

Beadie was pre-deceased by her beloved firstborn, Paul Heiny. She is survived by her remaining children Dave (Sandy) Heiny, Diane (Greg) Layng, and Rebecca (Tim) Triesch , and: grandchildren Shawn (Sarah), Michael, Ryan (Ashley), Jeremy, Krystyn, Andrew, Jemma and Spencer. Jemma shares her grandmother’s birthday, and Beadie selected her middle name, Rose, as a special remembrance of her.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to PAWS of Grays Harbor or the Union Gospel Mission, which were close to Beadie’s heart, are appreciated.
