Audrey “Mary” Slover, 89, Aberdeen resident and former Nurse’s Aide at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, died Wednesday evening, Sept. 14, 2016 at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen.

Audrey “Mary” Slover, 89, Aberdeen resident and former Nurse’s Aide at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, died Wednesday evening, Sept. 14, 2016 at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen.

She was born on June 26, 1927 to Ignatius ‘Nick’ and Sarah Marie (Coles) Michalak in Melville, Mont.

She moved a few years later to Wyoming and then to Elma in 1937 where she attended Elma Schools. She moved to Aberdeen in 1945.

Mary married Ted White on Aug. 20, 1945. He later died in 1972. She later married Lloyd Slover on July 21, 1975. He died on Aug. 10, 1992.

Mary worked for Grays Harbor Community Hospital form 1959 until her retirement in 1986.

She was a member of the Catholic Church. She was an avid history buff, loved yard work, sewing, knitting and crocheting.

Mary is survived by a son, Jim White of Hoquiam; a brother, Frank Michalak of Bellevue and a sister, Dorothy Gamio of Brewster, Wash.; three grandchildren: Corienne (Michael) Bradt, Tressa White and Steven (Lorna) White; five great-grandchildren: Tyler White, Amanda Bradt, Abbie Bradt, Carter Granberg and Brylee White; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons: Terry and Ricky White, brothers, Joe and Daniel Michalak.

There will be a time of visitation and viewing on Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 1 – 8 p.m. in Fern Hill Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. in Fern Hill Funeral Home’s Chapel with graveside services following at Forest Hill Cemetery in Cosmopolis.
