Anna “Ann” Catherine Gwinn, a resident of Aberdeen went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 6, 2020.

Anna “Ann” Catherine Gwinn, age 94, a resident of Aberdeen, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 6, 2020. Ann was born on Nov. 26, 1925, to Matija “Mike” A. and Stefania Amelia (Malovich) Iskra. Her family established a homestead on the Axford Prairie in 1908.

On Nov. 30, 1942, she married Neil G. Gwinn, who preceded her on Sept. 26, 1982. She resided in Quinault before moving to Aberdeen in 1986, where she has since resided.

Surviving relatives include her two children, John Gwinn (Shirley) of Ilwaco, Washington and Tammy Hoover (Bill) of Elma, Washington; three grandchildren, Angela Borgen (Dan), Deanna Hoover and Kelsey Hoover; and two great-grandchildren, Dakota Borgen and KyLee Borgen.

In addition to her husband Neil, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Maxamillian “Max” Iskra, Miroslaw “Slauko” Iskra, John Iskra and a sister Donica “Donna” (Iskra) Cournoyer.

She is remembered as a spiritual person, her love of God and her beautiful smile.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2020, at Hoquiam’s Sunset Memorial Park.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Due to COVID-19, a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date and time.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Humptulips or Quinault Fire Departments.
