Woman with local roots competing in “Titan Games”

Shannon Decker, who grew up in Westport and developed a love of surfing there, is one of the contestants in the “Titan Games” television show that will air at 8 p.m. Thursday.

The popular NBC show hosted by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, is a test of strength, athleticism and endurance.

Decker, 34, now lives in Santa Monica, Calif., and works as a personal trainer and fitness model.

Publicity materials indicated that Decker grew up part of the time in Westport and part of the time in Bellingham.

She takes part in extreme sports such as mountain biking, skateboarding, snowboarding, swimming and triathlons.
