Willapa Valley hosting active shooter response training
MENLO — Willapa Valley School District and the ALICE Training Institute are teaming up to offer training for what to do in violent incidents such as school shootings.
ALICE stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate. The two-day instructor certification course is designed to teach strategies to increase survivability and is designed for law enforcement, schools, universities, hospitals, businesses and places of worship.
Completing the course provides individuals with certification in proactive strategies and “allows them the opportunity to bring those same strategies back to their organization,” according to a news release. Registrants will also get access to other ALICE resources.
The training is June 22 and 23. The course will be held at Willapa Valley High School in Menlo from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To register, go to www.alicetraining.com
