A 48-year-old Auburn man was texting and driving under the influence when he rolled his vehicle the beach just north of the Ocean City beach approach Monday evening, according to the State Patrol.

He was transported by a trooper to Grays Harbor Community Hospital with undisclosed injuries. The driver was texting while driving southbound on the beach, read the State Patrol report, losing control of his 2018 Jeep Cherokee and rolling the vehicle on its side.

The State Patrol report said the driver will be charged with driving under the influence.
