A 38-year-old Westport man was arrested for arson on Sunday after South Beach Regional Fire Authority firefighters put out two motorhome fires in Ocosta.
Witnesses at the scene on Atlantic Avenue said they saw a suspect in the area at the time of the fire, shortly after 8 a.m., according to a release from the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies located the suspect and interviewed him, he confessed to setting the motorhomes on fire, saying he was upset with the owner, the release said.
Members of the Sheriff’s Office investigation team were able to determine the origin of the fires, according to the release.
