Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP arrest man under Mental Health Act

Male in his 30s said to be in mental health distress Monday, Feb. 25

Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP dealt with a man suffering mental health issues in north Vernon Tuesday, Feb. 25.

Late in the afternoon, front-line officers were advised of a 32-year old man believed to be in mental health distress.

“Police located the man at Hunter’s Store and apprehended him under the Mental Health Act,” said RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Tania Finn.

The man was transported to Vernon Jubilee Hospital in order to be treated by a doctor.
