A 43-year-old Vancouver man is facing charges including resisting arrest, reckless endangerment and providing false statements after a 2-vehicle crash on State Route 103 Saturday night, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The man was driving southbound about a mile north of Long Beach shortly before 9 p.m. when the State Patrol said he passed another vehicle at high rate of speed, then slowed and was hit by the vehicle behind him. The Vancouver driver’s orange 2004 Ford Mustang came to rest partially in the ditch. The second vehicle left the scene but returned, said the State Patrol.
The Vancouver man also faces a charge of driving under the influence, according to the State Patrol. He was reported as injured and taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital. The State Patrol is listing the cause of the crash as an unsafe lane change.
