Two suspects sought after gun incident in Grayland

The Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two suspects that reportedly broke into a Grayland home and fired a gun before leaving over a disputed vehicle sale. Two adults and two children were in the home at the time. Chief Criminal Deputy Kevin Schrader reported no injuries. A dog was struck by one of the bullets and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Schrader said in a news release that it was reported at 3:11 a.m. Sunday morning. A 30-year-old Grayland resident reported that two subjects came into her home. One of the subjects fired multiple rounds inside before both left the scene in an unknown vehicle.

Deputies, with assistance from the Westport Police Department, located evidence of the reported shooting. Detectives from the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene to assist in the investigation.

During interviews of the victims it was reported that the suspects were known to the victims. The suspects were identified and the victims alleged that the incident occurred because of a disagreement over a recently purchased vehicle that the victims bought from the suspects.

The reporting party was at her home with her 32-year-old boyfriend and his 14- and 9-year-old children.

The suspects have been identified and the Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate them.
