Two people were killed in separate vehicle crashes in the county over the weekend, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Three-car crash near Oakville

Jessie J. Eichelberger, 38, of Oakville, died at the scene of a three-vehicle collision on State Route 12 2.6 miles east of Oakville Saturday night, according to the State Patrol.

The State Patrol report said Eichelberger was driving eastbound at 11:20 p.m. when he entered the westbound lane to pass the vehicle in front of him. When Eichelberger’s 2002 Honda Civic returned to the eastbound lane it clipped a 2014 Honda Civic driven by a 49-year-old Lacey man, then rotated and hit a 2012 Toyota Camry driven westbound by a 26-year-old woman from Forks, according to the report.

A 38-year-old Oakville woman, a passenger in Eichelberger’s vehicle, and the Forks woman were injured and transported by air to Harborview Medical Center. The Lacey driver was not injured, according to the report. The roadway was closed for more than 6 hours for the investigation, which is ongoing.

Amanda Park rollover

A 79-year-old Forks man was killed in a one-car rollover crash on State Route 101 Sunday evening, according to the State Patrol.

Daryle A. Jacobson was pronounced dead at the scene after the 1997 Honda Accord he was driving northbound about 10 miles north of Amanda Park left the roadway, rolled and came to a rest on its top shortly before 6 p.m., according to the State Patrol.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Grays Harbor County Coroner Robert Kegel said an autopsy will be conducted Wednesday to determine the cause and manner of Jacobson’s death.
