The council, created by the Legislature in 2007, falls under the state Department of Social and Health Services.
According to the state’s description, the intent of the statute creating the council was to bring together expertise from the public and private sector to address the needs and gaps in services for those with brain injuries.
The council is composed of 25 members from the public and private sector and includes individuals with TBI, medical professionals serving individuals living with TBI, human service providers, family members of individuals with TBI, caregivers serving individuals with TBI and state agency representatives.
