Suspect in recent Central Park burglaries arrested

A suspect in a number of recent Central Park burglaries has been arrested by the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office, according to a statement released Friday by Undersheriff Dave Pimentel.

A recently stolen all-terrain vehicle was reportedly spotted in the bed of a pickup truck in the South Beach area late Thursday. Deputies located the vehicle, stopped it and talked with the 30-year-old Shelton man behind the wheel. Deputies confirmed the quad was the one stolen from the Central Park area, said Pimentel, and the man was arrested for possession of stolen property.

“Numerous items of stolen property from four separate burglaries in the Central Park area between Sept. 21 and Sept. 26 were located in the back of the pickup truck,” said Pimentel. A search warrant was to be served on the pickup truck late Friday morning, he added.

Pimentel said detectives will be working to process the evidence and also working with the Grays Harbor County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office with the hopes of returning the stolen property to the victims within a few days. The investigation is ongoing.
