Summit Pacific, Harbor Regional swamped with flu victims

Both Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma and Harbor Regional Health in Aberdeen are seeing a high number of people with the flu coming into their facilities, causing longer than normal waiting times.

Due to an increase in flu and seasonal illness cases, Summit Pacific is experiencing longer than normal waiting times in Urgent Care, the Emergency Department and Summit Pacific Health Clinic.

“We appreciate your patience and understanding as our dedicated team works tirelessly to care for everyone,” Summit Pacific stated in a news release. “Please remember to show kindness to our staff, they are here to help you.”

Harbor Regional Health yesterday stated, “Please be advised, we are currently experiencing a surge in hospitalizations, with nine patients waiting in the Emergency Department for a bed.”
