Splash 2017 kicks off at noon today

Music, games, entertainment, food at Riverfront Park, Grays Harbor Historical Seaport

Splash 2017 kicks off today with the annual Independence Day festival at Morrison Riverfront Park in Aberdeen at noon. There will be a variety of arts and crafts vendors, entertainment and food.

Son of Reptile Man will share his knowledge of lizards and snakes at the Log Pavilion at 12:30 p.m., cowboy juggler and comedian Leapin’ Louie follows at 2 p.m., and comedy magic team Trevor &Lorena takes the stage at 3:30 p.m. There will be free interactive games, including a rock wall and inflatable slide, and for the adults a beer garden featuring products from Steam Donkey Brewery and GH Wine Sellars.

The activities move to the Grays Harbor Historical Seaport across the river at 5 p.m. The Lady Washington is in port and you can take a dockside tour of her before 8 p.m., when those who bought tickets to see the fireworks show from the ship will get a two-hour excursion that includes the fireworks starting about 10 p.m.

The All In Band performs at 5 p.m., the Marlin James Band kicks off at 7 p.m. and Humptulips at 9 p.m.

Parking is limited at both locations. Anyone parking along Highway 12 will be towed, and no trespassing is allowed on the bluff over the highway.
