Remains found off Donkey Creek Rd identified as missing Aberdeen man

Undersheriff: Nathan Patrick Loring, 40, ‘died of homocidal violence’

Human remains discovered off Donkey Creek Road in Humptulips in late May have been positively identified as those of Nathan Patrick Loring, an Aberdeen man who was reported missing in March, and the case is considered a homicide.

Shortly after their discovery, the remains were sent to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, where the identification was made.

“The examination revealed that Loring died as a result of homicidal violence,” said Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Brad Johansson.

Loring, 40, had last been seen alive in South Aberdeen in late February.

Johansson reported the discovery of the remains May 27, saying a contractor working for Green Diamond Resources made the discovery in a remote area. Detectives processed the remote scene after the May 26 discovery into the next day, with search and rescue workers assisting in removing brush and searching for possible evidence.

“Detectives from the Aberdeen Police Department and the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office are working together to solve this case,” said Johansson.

Anyone with information on the disappearance or death of Nathan Patrick Loring is urged to contact Aberdeen Det. Cox or Det. Sgt. Paul Logan through the dispatch non-emergency line, 360-533-8765.
