Editor’s note: The fourth candidate in this race, Cheryl Turner, has not responded to calls or emails regarding this questionnaire.

Name: Mark Collett

Occupation: Corrections officer

Relevant experience: Cosmopolis school board, eight years; corrections officers, 26 years; U.S. Marine Corps, eight years active duty.

Questions:

1. What are your views on the proposed construction of a new City Hall/Police Department/Court building for the city?

It is badly needed. The Police have been stuck with that trailer for way too long.

2. What are your ideas for addressing infrastructure issues in Cosmopolis (streets, sidewalks, city staffing, etc.)?

Many of the sidewalks were damaged in the 2001 earthquake and have not yet been repaired. I would have them repaired. As for the streets and city staffing I would maintain them.

3. What would you consider to be the most pressing issue facing the next Mayor of Cosmopolis?

Revitalizing the waterfront.
