Police looking for missing person

Mushroom picker disappears in Copalis Beach area

A $2,500 reward is being offered to anyone who has information that would lead to solving the disappearance of a Quinault Tribal elder who was last seen Oct. 4.

Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office has issued a missing person alert for Jerry Harvey Hyasman, also known as “Jerry Pie.”

Updated tribal information has Hyasman, 56, described as a Native American male 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds with short gray hair, a synthetic left eye and a “tribal tattoo” on his arm.

Hyasman left to go mushroom picking in the Copalis Beach area on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

He was last seen wearing a dark colored rain jacket, a dark blue sweater, jeans and rubber boots. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (360) 533-8765 or the Taholah Police Department at (360) 276-4423.
