Pauley announces bid for Cosi mayor

Cosmopolis City Councilman Kyle Pauley has announced he will run for mayor.

“After much consideration, I have decided that now is the right time for me to continue my efforts to make Grays Harbor better,” wrote Pauley on his Facebook page Wednesday. “I am officially announcing that I will be filing for Mayor of Cosmopolis.”

Pauley was appointed to the Cosmopolis City Council in 2014, taking Frank Chestnut’s seat after Chestnut was appointed mayor. He currently serves on the city’s Public Works, Finance, and City Parks, Recreation and Cemetery committees. Chestnut announced his retirement earlier this month.

“Becoming a Cosmopolis City Council member has been the most rewarding position I have ever taken on, and I hope that with the support of Cosi voters I will be able to serve this city as its mayor,” said Pauley.

A graduate of Wishkah Valley School and Grays Harbor College, Pauley works for KXRO News Radio in Aberdeen and is an avid collector of Grays Harbor memorabilia.

“I have spent the last decade pursuing activities to ensure that everyone can see the same beauty and grandeur of this area that I see every day,” said Pauley. “I have Grays Harbor etched in my veins and my daily goal is to find a way to make it better for the future.”
