One person was found dead at the scene of a mobile home fire west of Montesano on Monday evening, according to a Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office statement.

Law enforcement and fire personnel were dispatched to a report of a trailer fire at Hidden Valley Trailer Court at 1194 State Route 12 in Montesano around 5 p.m. Fire District 2 responded and was assisted by Fire District 5, and the Montesano and Aberdeen fire departments.

“The fire was extinguished and it was determined the trailer was occupied and the occupant was deceased,” said Undersheriff Brad Johansson. The victim of the fire had not yet been positively identified as of Tuesday morning.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating. The cause and origin of the fire was not immediately known, however, “At this point there is nothing that leads investigators to believe there is anything suspicious with the fire,” said Johansson.
