Nathaniel Rath, who was reported overdue Friday from a muushroom picking outing, has been found safe, the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office said.

Family members had said he did make it back to his scheduled return spot Friday, but officials said it was learned that he did make it back, leaving a note that wasn’t noticed initially.

A search had been called off because of nightfall, but had been scheuled to start again in the morning when Rath called in about midnight to say he was safe.
