Drugs or alcohol are suspected to be involved in a motorcycle crash Sunday in Lewis County that seriously injured a McCleary man, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The incident was reported at 12:52 a.m. Sunday on southbound Jackson Highway one mile south of the intersection with U.S. Highway 12, which is about five miles east of Napavine.
A motorcyclist identified by the state patrol as Chase J. Marcou, 30, of McCleary, was heading southbound on a 2007 Yamaha YZFR6 motorcycle when he reportedly lost control and hit a guardrail.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but drugs or alcohol are suspected to be a factor, according to a report from the State Patrol.
Marcou was injured and transported to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland. Possible charges are pending investigation, according to the State Patrol.
