Longtime corrections officer named Pacific Co E911 director

Longtime Pacific County Sheriff’s Office employee Ed Heffernan has been appointed to the position of Pacific County E911 Director.

Sheriff Robin Souvenir made the appointment in late October. Heffernan had been a senior corrections officer at the Pacific County Jail for 22 years.

Prior to starting his career with the Sheriff’s Office, Heffernan served for five years in the United States Army. Heffernan attended the the Washington State Corrections Officer Academy in 1997 and graduated top cadet overall, according to a statement from the Sheriff’s Office. Heffernan has held the ranks of corrections officer and corrections sergeant during his years of service with Pacific County.

Heffernan has attended management and supervision training and has also been certified as a Spillman Application Administrator, a responsibility that encompasses the entire database system for the Sheriff’s Office, which includes the jail and communications center. Heffernan is also a certified Computer Aided Dispatch Administrator.

As E911 Director, Heffernan will be responsible for overseeing the operation and function of the Pacific County Communications Center and its employees.
