The Aberdeen Police Department is reporting a Level 3 sex offender has registered an address in the 900 block of West Heron Street.

Richard Leon Hosier, 69, was convicted in 1983 of first degree rape with a deadly weapon in King County, with communicating with a minor for immoral purposes in Everett in 2001, and with three counts of that same charge in Snohomish County in 2003. As a Level 3 offender he is considered by the State Department of Corrections to be a high risk to reoffend.

According to Aberdeen Police, there are currently more than 19,000 sex or kidnapping offenders who have registered and are currently living in the state. Of those, about 400 are registered to Grays Harbor County addresses; about 150 of those have registered addresses inside the Aberdeen city limits.
