Hoquiam Police officers serving a felony probation warrant in the 900 block of Wheeler Avenue Monday found the 39-year-old suspect hiding in a running shower, according to Police Chief Jeff Myers.
“Apparently after a long stint in prison, the subject was on active supervision, but was not checking in or complying with his community supervision requirements,” said Myers. He was wanted on a probation violation out of Spokane County on an original charge of murder in the second degree.
Detectives had obtained information that the man, who has no known address, was staying at the residence on Wheeler Avenue. According to Myers, officers were able to gain the cooperation of the residents at the home and checked inside for the man, who was found hiding inside a running shower in the bathroom and was arrested without incident.
Unrelated to the arrest, the residence was referred to city Code Enforcement because debris, garbage and appliances were strewn about the side and back yard.
