Moclips man cited for DUI

A two-car collision on State Route 109 Saturday sent a 22-year-old Moses Lake woman to Harborview and resulted in a DUI charge for a 59-year-old Moclips man.

A 19-year-old woman from Yakima was traveling southbound about two miles north of Hoquiam when she lost control of her vehicle shortly after 2 p.m., according to a State Patrol report. Her Toyota Camry crossed the center line and struck an oncoming 1995 Chevrolet pickup. The Yakima woman was taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital by aid car. Her passenger, a 22-year-old Moses Lake man, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with undisclosed injuries.

The driver of the pickup was not injured but was cited for driving under the influence. The Yakima woman has been charged with negligent driving in the second degree. The roadway was blocked for nearly five hours during the investigation.
