Grays Harbor College to conduct virtual graduation

GHC will stream its virtual graduation ceremony online at 6 p.m. Friday, June 26.

Grays Harbor College will celebrate its students’ academic achievements with a virtual graduation ceremony to be streamed online at 6 p.m. Friday, June 26.

“While a bit different than an in-person ceremony, we are committed to providing an experience as close to it as possible for our students, their families and their friends,” said GHC President Jim Minkler.

The ceremony will highlight Top Scholars, Student of the Year and Faculty of the Year. It will include speeches by Minkler and keynote speaker Hoquiam Mayor Ben Winkelman, and will recognize the individual accomplishments of each of the graduates.

“We encourage all students to start thinking outside of the box for how they can celebrate their accomplishments with their families — perhaps hold a virtual viewing party with family and friends,” said Minkler.

The live ceremony will take place June 26, according to a statement from GHC, then will remain available to view anytime at ghc.edu/graduation.

Graduates who still would like to participate in an in-person graduation ceremony are invited to join next year’s festivities in June 2021.

“To all of our graduates, congratulations on this accomplishment!” said Minkler. “We hope as many people as possible join us in celebrating our remarkable, overcome-all-challenges, GHC class of 2020.”
