Fire engulfs car in Hoquiam

The Hoquiam Fire Department responded to a car fire in the alley behind an apartment building Friday morning.

According to Hoquiam Police Chief Jeff Myers, the first police officer on the scene reported the car was fully involved. The first fire engine to arrive was able to knock down the fire before it could damage the nearby apartment building. Myers said smoke could be seen all across the east end of Hoquiam. The vehicle appears to be a total loss.
