The Grays Harbor Drug Task Force and officers from other agencies raided a house across the street from McDermoth School in Aberdeen shortly after midnight Nov. 5, arresting three people on a drug-related search warrant.

The residence in the 200 block of West Third St. is directly across the street from McDermoth Elementary School, according to Sgt. Darrin King with the Aberdeen Police Department. Officers seized heroin, methamphetamine, a handgun, illegal prescription drugs, cash and a vehicle.

Three were arrested on warrants, but some of them may later be charged with drug-related crimes, said King. Arrested were a 32-year-old Aberdeen male, a 40-year-old Aberdeen male, and a 37-year-old Aberdeen male. A fourth person, a 40-year-old Aberdeen male, was arrested just prior to the serving of the warrant on unrelated charges and faces drug trafficking charges as well as the enhancement for selling drugs within 1,000 feet of a school, said King.

King added the investigation is ongoing and the task force is still looking to speak to other persons of interest. Several officers from Aberdeen, Hoquiam, Cosmopolis and the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office also took part in the raid.
