Driver swerves to miss deer on Highway 12, injured in rollover wreck Monday

A 28-year-old Olympia woman was injured in a single call rollover crash on State Route 12 early Sunday morning after she swerved to miss a deer in the roadway.

The driver was westbound at Mox Chehalis Road shortly before 2 a.m. when she encountered a deer in the roadway, according to the State Patrol. The vehicle left the roadway to the right, struck an embankment, rotated and flipped, coming to rest on its side in the middle of the road.

The woman was taken to Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma with unspecified injuries.
