A 35-year-old Stone Mountain, Georgia, woman was injured when the vehicle she was driving struck an embankment on Highway 101 south of Cosmopolis on Thursday afternoon.
According to Washington State Patrol, the driver was southbound at mile post 78, about midway between Cosmopolis and the State Route 107 intersection, reportedly driving too fast for conditions. The vehicle failed to negotiate a right turn, and when the driver applied the brakes the tires lost traction and the vehicle hit the southbound embankment.
The driver was taken to Harbor Regional Health Community Hospital with undisclosed injuries.
