Can’t hide from the law

Early Friday morning an Aberdeen officer spotted a man who appeared to be hiding from police vehicles at the 600 block of West Market. When approached it was discovered he was known to officers and, after a check, had municipal court warrants. The 36-year old was taken to jail and booked on the warrants.

Suspicious suspect pocket-peppers police

A suspicious male spotted by Aberdeen Police at the 600 block of West Second just after midnight Friday pretended not to hear the officer’s request for a chat. Other officers responded, one of whom began to yell at the man to “drop the knife.” A knife was found near the man. When police asked if he had other weapons the suspect said no, but as the 27-year old was being handcuffed an OC (commonly known as pepper spray) canister concealed in his pocket discharged. Officers found a package of pills without a label in the man’s backpack. The man was issued a citation for unlawful display of a weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
