It took about a half hour for six firefighters to extinguish the blaze. No structures were damaged in the fire.
Man found with fire hydrant
An Aberdeen officer responded to the 700 block of West First Street around 8 a.m. Wednesday and made contact with a male subject walking down the road with a fire hydrant. The man said he received the item from a friend for $40 and was selling it to another friend. The officer contacted the Public Works Department to see if ta hydrant was missing, but none were. The hydrant appeared to be from another state, as it was red in color and had IOWA stamped on it, according to Aberdeen Police Lieutenant Kevin Darst.
