MONTESANO – Construction continues on U.S. 12 near Montesano as contractor crews for the Washington State Department of Transportation prepare to hit a key milestone next week in the fish barrier correction project.

From 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, crews will temporarily close the Devonshire Road on-ramp to westbound U.S. 12. This will allow crews to move traffic onto the newly constructed westbound lanes and complete work on the south side of the highway.

Crews are replacing an outdated culvert that runs under the highway with a 220-foot-long concrete box structure, which will open 2 miles of potential fish habitat. The project is expected to be completed by late fall.
