Deaths of couple, dog at Wynoochee Wildwood appear to be from carbon monoxide

The Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of two people and a dog at Wynoochee Wildwood park and campground outside of Montesano.

“We are investigating what appears to be the accidental deaths of a male, female and a dog,” stated Chief Criminal Deputy Brad Johansson said Saturday. “It appears the deaths were the result of carbon monoxide poisoning from a small, portable heater that was being used to heat a small building where the victims were sleeping. Detectives are still attempting to identify the victims.”

No further details were available Saturday afternoon.
