In the Canoe House story in the March 29 edition of The Daily World, two facts were misstated. First, the historic canoe was originally used in Red Cross programs on the waters of Grays Harbor County; it did not make its first appearance at Camp Bishop until May 2013, after it was restored. Second, it was Keith Lile, facility and maintenance director of the YMCA, who recognized the dilapidated craft and notified Vern Heikkila of its whereabouts.

As a matter of policy, The Daily World will publish corrections of errors in fact that have been printed in the newspaper. The corrections will be made as soon as possible after the error has been brought to the attention of Editor Doug Barker at 537-3923 or dbarker@thedailyworld.com.
