Conservation District takes command of Aberdeen Farmers Market

$51K in grant money to revamp and keep market alive on new day at new location

The Grays Harbor Conservation District has secured $51,020 in competitive grant money to maintain, enhance, and staff this year’s Aberdeen Farmers Market for 2025.

Thanks to that grant money, vendor fees are free this year. Formerly known as the Aberdeen Sunday Market, the retooled market is scheduled for every Saturday from May 31 – Sept. 27, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at its new location on Broadway between Market and Wishkah in Aberdeen.

According to the Grays Harbor Conservation District’s official website, “The Grays Harbor Conservation District is excited to announce that it has secured grant funding to adopt the formerly known Aberdeen Sunday Market. This initiative aims to enhance vendor and patron opportunities while providing crucial support to local farmers in Grays Harbor County. With a commitment to creating an accessible and enjoyable space for all residents and visitors, the Conservation District is dedicated to fine-tuning market plans that will foster community engagement and local agriculture. Stay tuned for more updates as we work towards revitalizing this beloved market.”

The Grays Harbor Conservation District says, “The common goal of our market grants is to increase access to healthy, local food for SNAP, EBT, and WIC benefit users. Because of this, our top priority is to engage with local farmers and producers, helping build stronger connections between them and our community. This market will continue to be a place for everyone to gather. We’ll still have music, family activities, and youth-friendly events.”

The Conservation District is actively seeking feedback and suggestions for the market, while Kyrsten Lee Jackson designed the new logo. https://www.graysharborcd.org/aberdeen-farmers-market
