Continuing dry conditions have led to a ban on all outdoor burning across the county. The county announced its ban on Thursday afternoon, and cities like Montesano, Aberdeen, Hoquiam and others followed suit quickly. All fires are banned in the State Park system, as well and on state Department of Natural Resources and Fish and Wildlife lands.
The ban went into effect Friday morning and will remain in place until conditions improve. All burning, including recreational campfires and charcoal and wood burning are prohibited until further notice. The use of natural and propane gas burning self-contained camping stoves and natural and propane gas burning portable fire pits are allowed.
