A 53-year-old Hoquiam man was booked into the Hoquiam Jail just after 5 p.m. Tuesday following a reported burglary in progress in South Aberdeen, according to Aberdeen Police Lt. C.J. Chastain.
Officers from Aberdeen and Cosmopolis responded to a residence in the 400 block of South Clark Street when a neighbor reported a man they knew did not live at the home walking out of the residence carrying tools, said Chastain.
Responding officers began setting up a perimeter and canvassing the area, locating a man who matched the description provided by the neighbor. Police K-9 Ronin checked the house, then tracked directly to the man being detained by officers, said Chastain.
The suspect was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant and transferred to the Hoquiam Jail. Detectives are working with the homeowner, preparing a criminal investigation for residential burglary, said Chastain.
