Be prepared for hot weather this week. The National Weather Service in Seattle is predicting temperatures approaching 90 degrees in the East County by midweek.

The forecast calls for highs in the upper 80s Tuesday and Wednesday in Montesano and other areas of the East County. In Hoquiam and on the coast, the Weather Service said the high temperature Tuesday will be 83, followed by upper 70s Wednesday and upper 60s during the holiday weekend.

In the East County, the forecast for Labor Day Weekend calls for party cloudy skies with highs in the low 70s.

The weather service has some tips for tackling the hot weather. Take breaks in the shade if you’re outdoors, drink plenty of water before you feel thirsty, keep blinds and windows closed with fans blowing during hte day, and dress in lightweight layers.
