“Best Of Twin Harbors” voting extended to end of June

The Daily World’s Best of the Twin Harbors 2020 competition has reopened, and you get one more month to vote for your favorite businesses and institutions.

The ballots you’ve already cast will count. The extension is just to give everyone one more chance. A lot’s happened since voting was suspended two months ago due to the pandemic. We’ve all learned to do some things differently and we all know that our favorite places to eat, shop and visit can’t be taken for granted. A good way to demonstrate that is by filling in the names of your favorites on the “Best Of” online ballot at thedailyworld.com.

“Our first round of voting, unfortunately, coincided with the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in Washington,” said Daily World Publisher Mike Hrycko. “We want to ensure that our readers have adequate time to vote for the businesses they feel represent what it means to be the Best of Grays Harbor.”’

“I’m excited to get the voting restarted and can’t wait to see who our readers choose in each category,”

Voting will be open until the end of June.

There are 109 categories in this year’s balloting and only ballots with at least 10 categories filled in will be counted.

New this year is a chance to vote for the best overall business in each community and one for the whole area. Think of those businesses that offer the best overall customer experience, whatever that means to you.

And you’ll still get a chance to vote for your favorites in specific categories.

Here’s something that will be helpful to the businesses, people and places you vote for: Be as accurate as you can in telling us the name. The winners will be named in a special section that publishes Aug. 22.

So, take advantage of your chance to bring some extra attention to your favorite spots and thank them for being there for you.
