The City of Aberdeen’s Residential Spring Clean Up starts Monday and runs through April 30. It allows residents to dump off one vehicle-load at the LeMay Grays Harbor waste disposal site for free. It’s located at 4201 Olympic Highway east of Aberdeen.
Purple vouchers have been sent out to residents this past week, to anyone who uses Aberdeen utilities such as water or sewage. The vouchers need to be presented at the time of disposal to get the free service.
The voucher is good for a free 1-ton load of garbage in a car, pickup truck or a 4-by-8-foot or smaller trailer. There’s a maximum limit of four car tires and one refrigerator or freezer that can be disposed. No truck tires, cement, medical waste, asbestos, ammunition or explosives can be disposed.
Certain hazardous materials, such as paint, motor oil, cleaners and propane tanks can only be disposed on April 3 and 6 during the cleanup month, between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Certain eWaste items, such as computer CPU towers, laptops, TVs and monitors, should be disposed on Tuesdays.
LeMay is open Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., and Saturday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
