Aberdeen police arrest man who broke into office

On Sunday at 9:45 a.m., Aberdeen police officers were dispatched to 600 W. Wishkah Street for a burglary complaint. A citizen reported that the glass door at the front of the Comcast/Xfinity building had been shattered.

Upon arrival, officers searched the interior of the building but did not find anyone inside. The Xfinity security manager provided surveillance footage of the incident. The video showed a male approaching the building and throwing a large rock at the door, shattering the glass. The suspect then kicked out the remaining glass and entered the building. From the footage, officers were able to identify the suspect as a 30-year-old Aberdeen resident.

At 12:45 p.m. later that same day, an Aberdeen officer spotted the suspect walking in the 800 block of W. Heron Street. The officer made contact with the suspect, who was subsequently arrested for second-degree burglary and second-degree malicious mischief. The suspect was booked into the Aberdeen City Jail. At the time of the report, it was unclear if anything had been stolen from the business.
