A 36-year-old Aberdeen man accused of raping several children between 2000 and 2003 has plead guilty to related charges and has been sentenced to 198 months in prison, according to Aberdeen Police Lt. Kevin Darst.

In August of 2016, Det. Jason Perkinson was assigned a child rape case. Through his investigation, he developed probable cause for the suspect identified as Mark Anthony Wakefield, for rape of a child that occurred over numerous years. Several victims that were now adults stated that the molestation happened approximately between 2000 and 2003 when the victims were children. Perkinson developed probable cause for several additional victims.

Wakefield recently plead guilty to first-degree rape of a child and child molestation in the first and third degrees. He was sentenced to 198 months in prison for these crimes.
