Aberdeen man arrested for April 9 UPX burglary

A 51-year old Aberdeen man was arrested Thursday afternoon in relation to a burglary at the UPX shop in East Aberden that occurred in the early morning hours of April 9, according to Aberdeen Police Detective Sgt. Steve Timmons.

“Video from the incident was posted on the Aberdeen Police Department Facebook page following the initial investigation,” said Timmons. “Several tips were received from the community of possible suspect identification. Detective Weiss followed up with the information received and was able to positively identity and establish probable cause for the suspect, which led to his arrest.”

A search warrant was secured for the suspect’s residence and was served Thursday night. Several items that linked the suspect to the burglary were located and seized as evidence, said Timmons.

“We would like to thank the public for your support with assisting in providing information that helped lead to the suspects arrest,” said Timmons.
