Firefighters douse motorhome fires in Ocosta

There were no injuries reported after South Beach Regional Fire Authority firefighters extinguished two motorhome fires in Ocosta on Sunday morning.

Battalion Chief Daryl Brown said the department was called at 8:17 a.m. to Atlantic Ave.

“The reporting party advised vehicles were engulfed, but didn’t believe anyone was inside,” said Brown. “Upon arrival fire crews found two motorhomes on fire, which were well involved.”

The engine crew deployed an exterior attack while protecting a single-family home from the fire. The motorhome fires were under control and extinguished within minutes of arrival. Fire crews remained on scene for several hours mopping up and overhauling hot spots. South Beach Regional Fire Authority responded with eight firefighting personnel.

“We are thankful to report, no injuries occurred during this incident,” said Brown. “We would like to thank the Grays Harbor County Sheriff and the Westport Police Department for their professional assistance.”

Currently the fire remains under investigation. If you have any information on this incident, Brown asks you contact the Grays Harbor county Sheriff’s office at 360-533-8765.
