Grays Harbor County’s COVID-19 case count is now at 21, with the fourth case of June reported Tuesday afternoon.
“Grays Harbor County Public Health and Grays Harbor County Emergency Management have been notified of one additional case of COVID-19,” read a joint statement Tuesday. “Public Health staff have completed a case investigation and have notified all close contacts. Grays Harbor Public Health COVID-19 Task Force is prepared to respond if any additional cases are identified.
As with previous cases, no additional information on the case is being made public.
“Information collected during a disease investigation is Protected Health Information and is legally protected by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996,” read the statement. “This act applies even during a pandemic such as COVID-19. Please show compassion and support for individuals who are sick and respect their right to privacy.”
As of Tuesday afternoon, the county was still waiting to hear on its Phase 3 variance application with the state, which was submitted Friday. Public Health said the additional case should not affect the county’s ability to move to phase 3.
