2-car Ocean Shores crash sends two to the hospital

A 2-car crash on State Route 109 Saturday sent two Ocean Shores residents to the hospital, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A 53-year-old Ocean Shores man was driving a 2004 Dodge Durango southbound and stopped to turn left into a private business at milepost 15 shortly before 10 a.m. According to the State Patrol report, a 2002 Kia Optima driven by a 37-year-old Ocean Shores woman struck the Durango from the rear.

The Ocean Shores man was injured, as was a 16-year-old female passenger in the Kia, according to the report. Both were transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital with undisclosed injuries. The driver of the Kia was following too close and faces charges of negligent driving and driving without insurance, according to the report.
