Does Man Sleep really work? How does Man Sleep work? Find out everything you need to know about the world’s manliest sleep supplement today in our review.

What is Man Sleep?

Man Sleep is a nutritional supplement sold exclusively online through ManUpgraded.com.

The supplement claims to help men fall asleep more easily, then stay asleep for maximum strength gains, energy, and testosterone production.

Man Sleep is made by MitaNutra, a supplement company launched by Chad Howse. Chad is also known for creating The Man Diet.

Most sleep aids simply claim to help you fall asleep. However, Man Sleep claims to support testosterone while you sleep. The supplement claims to help you enter “anabolic burst wave sleep,” the type of sleep that “separates men with vigorous testosterone levels…from guys who slowly morph into weak, flabby, tired old grumps who can’t get ‘it’ working when they want to.”

To achieve this type of superpowered sleep, Man Sleep claims to contain an “anabolic nutrient” that “natural growth hormone production” and keeps your testosterone levels “full steam ahead,” even if you only get a few hours of sleep.

Most sleep aids don’t claim to raise or lower hormone levels. However, science tells us that your body produces most of its testosterone as you sleep. When you get a good night’s sleep, you’re more likely to have higher testosterone levels the next day.

Let’s take a closer look at how Man Sleep works.

How Does Man Sleep Work?

Man Sleep claims to use specific ingredients to support testosterone and growth hormone production overnight.

Because Man Sleep is a supplement, it cannot claim actually to raise testosterone. That’s why Man Sleep and most other male health supplements simply claim to support testosterone production.

Just take three capsules of Man Sleep before you fall asleep, then support testosterone production overnight. Man Sleep claims that it “keeps testosterone levels charging full steam ahead,” which effectively is the same as raising testosterone levels.

At the same time, Man Sleep claims to increase your body’s production of growth hormone. The sales page claims Man Sleep “boosts natural growth hormone production,” which can help your body build lean muscle, recover from exercise, and support testosterone, among other benefits.

The makers of Man Sleep also claim that their formula “supports how often your body pumps out surges of anabolic hormones while you sleep.”

Most sleep aids are designed to help you fall asleep, stay asleep, enjoy a more restful night, and wake up feeling refreshed. Man Sleep, however, claims to impact hormone production as you sleep –something few other sleep aids claim to do.

Who Should Take Man Sleep?

If you have low testosterone problems, then getting more sleep is unlikely to fix it. Excessive stress and prolonged sleep issues can lower testosterone, but most testosterone issues are more complicated than that.

However, Man Sleep markets its formula to any man seeking a boost in testosterone.

The company claims that men produce 33% less testosterone in their sleep than they did 30 years ago, citing a 2020 study from Tel Aviv University in Israel.

Low testosterone leads to many issues. It can lead to sexual dysfunction, weight gain, poor muscle development, belly fat, and low energy.

After age 30, your testosterone levels naturally drop. Your testosterone levels continue to drop as you get older. By the time you reach age 50, you might have half the level of testosterone you had when you were younger.

Man Sleep is marketed to any man – young or old – who wants to support testosterone production with age. Maybe you have noticed symptoms of low testosterone. Maybe you want to recapture your youthful energy and sex drive. Man Sleep claims to help.

Who Created Man Sleep?

Man Sleep was created by a man named Chad Howse. Chad is the author of The Man Diet and the owner of MitaNutra.

Chad was motivated to create a testosterone-boosting sleep supplement after noticing problems with his own life.

Chad claims he was burnt out all the time and that he felt sluggish during most hours of the day. He felt out of shape and unmotivated. His sex drive was low.

Chad started researching ways to increase testosterone production. He stumbled upon many of the ingredients in Man Sleep, then started taking those ingredients. Chad claims he “safely, naturally, and noticeably boosted my testosterone levels” using the formula. Now, he wants to share the formula with the world in the form of Man Sleep.

Man Sleep Features & Benefits

Chad claims men can experience all of the following features and benefits after taking Man Sleep:

“Crank up your anabolic hormones by up to 400%” overnight “with zero effort”

Keep “a full arsenal of testosterone” circulating through your body regardless of your age, lifestyle, or the number of hours you sleep each night

Boost your libido and sex drive

Support fast recovery from workouts and enjoy noticeable changes to your physique without adjusting your diet or exercise program

Stay at the top of your game and maintain high levels of energy

Become one of the “guys with high testosterone” and enjoy perks like anti-aging benefits

In other words, Man Sleep claims to solve virtually every problem men face as they get older. By boosting testosterone production and affecting your hormones, Man Sleep claims to lead to fast, noticeable benefits for any man.

How Does Anabolic Burst Wave Sleep Work?

Man Sleep works by forcing your body to enter something Chad calls “anabolic burst wave sleep.”

This type of sleep is the deepest and most restorative phase of sleep for men. It’s the phase of sleep that increases anabolic hormone production.

By supporting this phase of sleep, Man Sleep claims to support testosterone production at a high level. You sleep all night, then wake up with higher testosterone levels.

Some people need 8 hours of peaceful sleep to enter the anabolic burst wave sleep phase. However, Chad claims his formula forces your body to enter this phase regardless of your sleep length.

In fact, Chad claims his formula works “even if you can only manage 4 or 5 hours of sleep on some nights.” He also claims the formula supports testosterone for shift workers, night shift employees, and others with unusual sleep schedules.

Stop Taking Melatonin to Avoid Testosterone Problems

Why do we need a sleep aid for men? Why can’t men take the same sleep supplements as everyone else?

Chad claims melatonin is bad for men. Melatonin is the ingredient found in most natural sleep supplements. Studies show that melatonin can force your body to fall asleep. Your body produces melatonin based on the natural sleep-wake cycle (your circadian rhythm). By giving your body a melatonin supplement, you can kickstart this sleep-wake cycle.

However, Chad claims that men should not take melatonin. Chad claims melatonin lowers testosterone. Here’s how Chad explains the dangers of melatonin:

“Melatonin decreases nighttime testosterone production and next day testosterone levels in men….I would never recommend melatonin to other guys.”

That’s why Chad started searching for alternative ways to increase his testosterone and get a more restful sleep. His search led him to create Man Sleep.

Stop Taking Prescription Testosterone Medication

Chad also claims that men should stop taking prescription testosterone medication. He claims big pharmaceutical companies have ruined these medications, making them dangerous for most men to take.

Here’s how Chad explains the dangers of testosterone medication prescribed by your doctor:

“Big medical companies took advantage and bottled it up so they could sell it to us…And that’s exactly what they’ve done with testosterone hormone, too…which is why someone can get testosterone replacement therapy pills or creams from the pharmacy…which is literally putting synthetic forms of this important male hormone in your body.”

Instead of giving your body testosterone directly, Chad recommends a different approach. He recommends supporting your body’s natural testosterone production, giving you more noticeable long-term testosterone benefits.

How Does Man Sleep Support Testosterone?

Most sleep aids do not claim to increase testosterone. So how does Man Sleep claim to support testosterone? What does Man Sleep do?

To understand how Man Sleep works, it helps to understand the three phases of sleep, including:

Stage 1) Your body transitions from being awake to falling asleep.

Stage 2) Your body temperature starts to drop, and your heart rate slows down. You begin to sink deeper into sleep.

Stage 3) This is the most important stage of sleep for men, according to chad, because it’s when anabolic burst wave sleep occurs.

Chad claims anabolic burst wave sleep is the deepest sleep wave for men.

In fact, this phase of sleep is so important for men because your body produces “95% of your testosterone, growth hormone and other male hormones” during this phase. Your body also recovers from workouts and recharges energy during this phase.

There’s also a fourth phase of sleep, the rapid eye movement phase, which impacts energy the next day – but it’s less important for increasing testosterone.

When a man constantly wakes up in the middle of the night, he never enters the third or fourth phases of sleep. Your body can’t make testosterone or growth hormone.

Man Sleep claims to help your body enter and stay in this third phase of sleep, maximizing testosterone and growth hormone production.

Man Sleep Ingredients

All sleep supplements claim to help your body enter a deep phase of sleep. Man Sleep specifically claims to affect hormone production during sleep. How does Man Sleep work? What’s inside Man Sleep that makes it superior to ordinary sleep aids?

Man Sleep claims to target GABA receptors in your body. GABA receptors help your body calm down, relax, and ultimately enter the deep anabolic burst wave sleep phase.

Chad claims your GABA receptors “switch off” after age 30, making it more difficult to fall asleep and relax. Man Sleep contains an “anabolic mineral” that switches your GABA receptors back on, forcing your body to enter anabolic burst wave sleep, allowing you to “maximize testosterone output while you sleep.”

That anabolic mineral is magnesium. Chad claims taking magnesium can “skyrocket growth hormone production by up to 400% overnight.

Man Sleep also contains herbal extracts, plant extracts, and other minerals to support sleep and testosterone in various ways.

The full list of ingredients in Man Sleep includes:

  • Magnesium
  • Chamomile
  • Lemon balm extract
  • Passionflower extract
  • Glycine
  • Valerian root

These ingredients are virtually identical to the ingredients found in any sleep supplement sold online today. Most sleep supplements contain a mixture of lemon balm extract, passionflower, glycine, valerian, chamomile, and magnesium. In other words, there’s no special “testosterone boosting” component within Man Sleep. It’s the same as any other sleep aid, minus the melatonin.

Man Sleep does not disclose dosage information upfront. The company shares a blurry image of its nutritional label, but it’s tough to see the specific dosage of all ingredients listed above.

As far as we can tell, Man Sleep contains the following dosages: 41mg of magnesium, 1000mg of glycine, 500mg of lemon balm extract, 474mg of valerian, 300mg of magnesium citrate, 200mg of chamomile, and 14mg of passionflower.

All ingredients are packaged into a vegetarian capsule.

Scientific Evidence for Man Sleep

Man Sleep claims to raise growth hormone production by up to 400% overnight while also affecting testosterone levels. These are big claims to make. Even the most powerful anabolic steroids won’t quadruple testosterone levels overnight.

Chad has not invested in clinical trials to prove his formula increases testosterone, nor has he published his “hidden anabolic element” research in any peer-reviewed journal. However, there’s plenty of evidence showing a good night’s sleep increases testosterone.

It’s possible some of the ingredients in Man Sleep help you fall asleep, and a good night’s sleep can support testosterone production. However, there’s no evidence that Man Sleep can significantly change your testosterone levels (say, by 400%) as advertised on the Man Sleep sales page.

Man Sleep seems to contain strong dosages of many proven sleep-boosting ingredients, including chamomile, glycine, and lemon balm extract. These ingredients could help you fall asleep, although they don’t directly raise testosterone on their own.

First, there’s no such thing as “anabolic burst wave sleep.” It’s a marketing term invented by Chad to sell Man Sleep online.

Science tells us that your body enters slow-wave sleep to recover. Your body produces testosterone and other growth hormones during the deepest phases of sleep. It’s an ordinary part of sleep, and that’s why you wake up from sleep feeling refreshed.

It’s also true that prolonged sleep deprivation can lead to serious health problems – including hormonal imbalances and low testosterone. In this 2004 study, researchers found that sleep-deprived rats had low levels of thyroid hormones, low energy balance, and low growth hormone concentrations, among other issues.

In a similar study on humans, researchers analyzed how sleep deprivation affected testosterone levels. In that study, researchers acknowledged that men produce most of their daily testosterone during sleep and that disrupted sleep was associated with reduced testosterone levels. In fact, researchers found that they could predict morning testosterone levels in older men based on their total sleep time.

To test the theory further, researchers deprived young, healthy men of sleep for one week and then analyzed testosterone’s effects. Prior to the study, men reported getting 8h55m of sleep per night. During the study, sleep times dropped to 4h48m. After one week, researchers observed, “daytime testosterone levels were decreased by 10% to 15%.” In other words, one week of sleep deprivation led to a significant drop in testosterone levels.

Man Sleep makes it easier to fall asleep using ingredients like chamomile, lemon balm, and passionflower extract, all of which have been linked to sleepiness in multiple studies. By helping you fall asleep and stay asleep, Man Sleep’s ingredients could indirectly support testosterone production.

It’s also true that melatonin, one of the most popular sleep supplement ingredients available today, could lower testosterone. Multiple studies have shown that taking melatonin can inhibit testosterone secretion. Man Sleep has zero melatonin, which could help your testosterone more than the average sleep supplement.

It’s also important to note that Man Sleep contains strong dosages of most listed ingredients. Although the ingredient label is blurry, the supplement seems to contain much higher doses of proven sleep aids than we get in other supplements – which is particularly important for men, who tend to be larger than women and require higher supplement dosages.

However, there’s no evidence that Man Sleep raises growth hormone or testosterone production by 400%. There’s also no evidence it can increase testosterone in men who already get a deep, restful sleep.

Final Word

Man Sleep is a nutritional supplement that encourages you to fall asleep and stay asleep, supporting testosterone and growth hormone production overnight.

Man Sleep claims to increase testosterone and growth hormone production by up to 400% while you sleep. Just take three capsules of Man Sleep before bed, then enjoy the noticeable benefits of testosterone and growth hormone when you wake up the next day.

Overall, Man Sleep is a sleep aid that uses the same ingredients as most other sleep aids, minus the melatonin (which lowers testosterone). The ingredients in Man Sleep won’t directly raise testosterone, but they could help you fall asleep. A good night’s sleep is crucial for testosterone, as your body produces most of its testosterone as your sleep.

A 90-day refund policy backs man Sleep. Although we’re skeptical it raises hormones by 400%, Man Sleep could support a good night’s sleep and indirectly support testosterone production for men of any age.
